Order up! Custom ordering for WordPress
Post and Taxonomy ordering for WordPress done right.
Post and Taxonomy ordering for WordPress done right.
A series of plugins for WordPress which allow for the ordering of pages, posts, and taxonomies through a simple drag-and-drop interface using the available WordPress scripts and styles. The plugins are extremely lightweight — without a bunch of unnecessary scripts to load into the admin. They also fall in line gracefully with the look and feel of the WordPress interface.
Order Up! Custom Post Order handles posts and all additional custom post types, hierarchical or not. The ability to order pages is excluded from this plugin, but is available in Order Up! Custom Page Order. You may optionally set whether or not to auto-sort all queries for each post type via the ordering page for each post type. Otherwise, you may manually set the queries to sort by the specified order in your templates as you normally would.
Order Up! Custom Page Order is a standalone page ordering plugin which works exactly the same way as Order Up! Custom Post Order. It is separated from Custom Post Order because, in most cases, someone who is using a basic install of WordPress would normally want their blog posts to sort by date, and would more likely just want to order their pages. This way, their admin is not clustered with a bunch of menus which they would most likely never use.
Order Up! Custom Taxonomy Order works much in the same way as the other Order Up! plugins. Using this plugin, you may order the terms in your taxonomies (as well as categories and tags). Though it works pretty well at this point, the Custom Taxonomy Order plugin is still under development and still lacks some of the features which the other Order Up! plugins currently enjoy. Rest assured that it will be updated to match the others soon.
